Class Action has created an entire page entitled, Bring Class Action to You, that deals with raising awareness in your local community. In order to begin to make a change and help those around us see the negative effects that classism has on society we must take a stance and start somewhere. Please visit classism.org to learn more about how to start educating your community today.
I am a student studying school psychology at CSULB. I am so happy to have found this blog! We often discuss diversity issues in school, including those pertaining to class. I look forward to reading your blog to supplement what I'm learning in class. Thanks :)
ReplyDeleteI am a parent as well as a member of the educational field. As to the goals of the organization as itemized by you, I find that #1 will instruct children to look for differences that will alienate more than it will assimilate. As for #6, it is not educations job to promote economic justice. It is their job to educate, period.
ReplyDeleteI think this is a really helpful post that truly shows there are things everyone can do to help stop classism
